Cole Palmer to have 2+ Shots on Target

The old Cole Palmer looks to be back. He registered a goal and an assist against Fulham as well as taking five shots, two of which found the target. He also had more shots than any other player in that game, and that only serves to underline just how much of an improvement Alonso seems to be after Liam Rosenior.

Palmer also had eight shots in Chelsea’s win over Luton in the EFL Cup on Thursday, while seeing three of those efforts find the target. This new freedom Palmer has under Alonso should see him maintain a high shot volume throughout the campaign, and I reckon he’s likely to find the target on Sunday.

Diego Gomez to be Shown a Card

The Paraguayan is a really aggressive player, and picked up nine yellow cards in the Premier League last season, with only Lewis Dunk (10) acquiring more.

He averaged 2.02 fouls per 90 as well, which naturally gave the referee a few opportunities to award him a caution. With Chelsea drawing 12 fouls from Fulham on Monday, this one could well follow suit.

Indeed, Diego Gomez was lucky not to get booked in this game last season, after committing two fouls in a 3-1 victory. Then again, Brighton were no angels on the whole, as they committed 16 fouls in that game, while also picking up five yellow cards.
