Fantasy Premier League: Don’t misuse Mo Salah again in Gameweek 25

Premier League action is back in full swing after the FA Cup weekend – and we’re still reeling from gameweek 24 in FPL.

PP football tipster Nathon Woodhead returns with his advice on how to navigate Gameweek 25…

All hail Moysey! Give him a knighthood. To those of you who have used the Assistant Manager chip on David Moyes, we salute you.

The man has thrust himself into FPL stardom since taking over at Everton. For the second week in a row, he is the second-highest round scorer (22) and the highest-scoring manager.

Not only is he breaking boundaries himself, but he appears to be elevating his players, too—with Beto (21) and James Tarkowski (17) delivering their biggest returns of the season.

Owned by 1.1% and with Dominic Calvert Lewin always injured, is Beto a good shout for a differential? At £4.9m, Everton face Palace, United, Brentford, Wolves and West Ham over the next few weeks, who, let’s be honest, love to concede a goal. One to keep an eye on.

Without the risk of sounding like a broken record, Mo Salah once again topped the round scoring with 29 points, putting himself on 251 overall, miles ahead of Cole Palmer in second place on 173.

Deep breath: now it’s time to face the music. In our GW24 preview, our tipster advised holding on to the triple captain chip as it would be too risky to use on Salah this time around.

Had you avoided this shoddy ‘expertise’ and used the chip, you’d have seen a cool 87-point delivery, which would have propelled you up the mini-league. Ouch!

That said, he predicted Southampton would win and Onuachu would score, which was wildly impressive because it never happens. He also predicted Haaland scoring against Arsenal, but not as a consolation in a 5-1 defeat. You can’t win ‘em all, kid.

In a quick GW24 round-up, Forest took Brighton to the cleaners, with Chris Wood, Morgan Gibbs-White, Anthony Elanga, and Nico Williams all delivering double-digit returns.

Jean-Philippe Mateta provided another attacking return after scoring twice at Old Trafford, for a total of four attacking returns in five for the French forward.

Time for some GW25 tips!

RUUUU-BBISH Van Nistelrooy

In what world are Leicester avoiding the drop? He may look like an Armani model in that black jacket, but it was a surprise when Ruud landed the job, and it looks too big for him. After sticking five past City, we expect Arsenal to carry the scoring form into the Leicester clash.

Paddy Tip:

Any Arsenal asset should offer a points return this weekend. We expect goals and a clean sheet for Arteta’s men. Honestly, Gabriel, Raya, Trossard, take your pick!

Double bubble for Liverpool

It’s another double gameweek for Liverpool, this time facing Wolves and Villa. Salah aside, are there any other Liverpool assets trustworthy? Luis Diaz? Darwin Nunez? Don’t make me laugh.

Paddy Tip:

It’s time to triple captain Salah. We apologise to those who didn’t do it in GW24. Do it now.

Charge of the shite brigade

Once upon a time in the ’90s and ’00s, Spurs vs Man United was a game to relish; I guess it still is, but for p*ss-taking reasons. The loser could find themselves in 16th place come Monday. What a LOL.

Paddy Tip:

Who’s worse? Honestly, we don’t know. Our advice is to back the Spurs attackers. Son, Tel, and Kulusevski should find success against that United defence.

Defensive assets to win at Selhurst

Palace vs Everton strikes me as being a draw, but we don’t know if this will be 0-0 or 1-1. Both teams are in form, so will probably cancel one another out.

Paddy Tip:

Assuming Everton aren’t still out on the town celebrating their 2-2 title win against Liverpool, we think Pickford, Tarkowski or Branthwaite could offer clean sheet points and bonus points.
