13:20 – Juby Ball

Juby Ball showed ability in bumpers, winning on his debut at Ffos Las before running at least as well in defeat at Sandown, and he looked a good prospect when making a successful start over hurdles back at Ffos Las last month. Juby Ball is bred to stay well but he showed bags of speed on his hurdling debut, impressing with how smoothly he travelled before quickening four lengths clear. He’s an exciting prospect and looks the one to beat under a penalty. Ben Solo, the other hurdles winner in the field, was a good second at Ffos Las in December and is likely to prove the main danger.

13:50 – Shade of Winter

Shade of Winter showed something to work with when runner-up on his bumper debut here in April and he also offered encouragement when third on his first start over hurdles back at this venue in November. He took a step forward on that form when runner-up back here in December and should have no issue with this longer trip. He gets the vote over Captain Bellamy who was first past the post at Newbury in December but was disqualified due to his rider’s overuse of the whip.

14:20 – Love of Neymore

Love of Neymore won her first two starts in handicap hurdles and ran at least as well in defeat when fourth in a big field at Wincanton last month. Those three efforts have been at around two and a half miles so this longer trip presents a different test, but she is relatively lightly raced and still appeals as being on a fair mark so looks worth siding with. Jalisco Star, like Love of Neymore, failed to fire on her chasing debut but has been in good form over hurdles and has won two of her last three starts in this sphere.

14:50 – Donnacha

Donnacha did well over hurdles last season, winning three times and finishing placed on a further three occasions from his seven starts. It has taken him a bit of time to find his feet over fences as he shaped as if in need of the run at Carlisle and was let down by a couple of jumping errors at Chepstow, but he got off the mark in this sphere at Exeter on New Year’s Day, showing a good attitude to assert. He’s a likeable type with the potential to do better over fences so is taken to build on last month’s success.

15:20 – Chatshow TV

Chatshow TV showed plenty to work with when third on his chasing debut at Warwick last month and he can take a step forward here. Chatshow TV showed his inexperience by making several mid-race errors, but he caught the eye with the big move he made down the back straight which briefly carried him into second. He was unable to sustain that effort but offered a platform on which he can build, particularly as his jumping may well improve with experience.

15:55 – Jukebox Joker

Jukebox Joker produced his most encouraging effort yet when fourth at Ffos Las last month, staying on well up the run-in without being able to land a blow. That looked like a strong race for the grade and Jukebox Joker remains with relatively few miles on the clock, so he might be able to build on that promise off the same mark here. Wonderweasle is a consistent sort and has produced creditable placed efforts on both starts this season so he’s likely to be in the mix again.

16:30 – Pride of Paris

Pride of Paris failed to complete on both starts after making a successful handicap debut for Victor Dartnall last year, but he is of interest returning from a break for his new trainer Harry Derham. Derham has a superb record with recruits from other yards and the lightly-raced Pride of Paris is potentially well treated off a mark only 3 lb higher than the one he defied at Fontwell last year.
