INEOS chief Ratcliffe ‘delighted’ with win bonus savings at Man United

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is understood to be “delighted” with the win bonus savings he has made since he came to Manchester United.

The billionaire businessman, who witnessed the Red Devils’ eighth defeat in 12 games under new boss Ruben Amorim at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on Sunday, is desperate to save every penny he can at Old Trafford and is happy how things are going under the new regime, a source close to the INEOS chief explained.

“It’s all about saving a few quid here and there and the new gaffer has been a breath of fresh air.

“He has the full backing of the board to continue playing the 3-4-3 system that nobody has a clue what their role is and to keep the number of wins down to a minimum.

“We’ve been lucky with injuries too, because some of the young kids who have been drafted into the matchday squad are prepared to play in the Premier League for free.”

They also said that Ratcliffe has not been surprised by United’s lack of form.

“Sir Jim also factored in that the current team was s**t at the time of buying a stake in the club. So far, he feels that things are working out just as he had hoped.

“He really appreciates the work being done at Southampton, Leicester and Ipswich too.”

The rumours doing the rounds at Carrington this morning suggest that if things continue the way they are going, Ratcliffe will not have to make any more staff redundant for the time being and will also have some spare cash available to get the leaking Old Trafford roof fixed. Another club insider confirmed that:

“Liverpool have recommended a cheap builder to us.”

In other Manchester United news, Sir Dave Brailsford is understood to have had to change his #Mission21 statement as it has become clear that the Red Devils will not be adding to their Premier League title tally anytime soon.

The team operations supremo had done a PowerPoint presentation to staff last week outlining how he intended to deliver the club’s 21st Premier League crown.

A spokesperson told Paddy Power News earlier today however, that;

“It’s all about marginal gains and Sir Dave has tweaked things a little. Now #Mission21 is aimed at returning the club to the top of the tree within the next 21 years.”

We understand that Ethan Hunt, star of the Mission Impossible franchise, could also be brought in as a consultant.
