The Premier League arrives into Anfield on Sunday afternoon with league leaders Liverpool hosting Wolves.

PP football tipster Andrew Beasley has dug into the stats and form to find a hatful value picks for Sunday afternoon’s clash for you to use however you see fit.

Bet Builder? Go for it. A couple of singles from the #WhatOddsPaddy markets catching your eye? Well, it is Valentine’s weekend after all.

He’s got three player picks in here, too, which are all covered by Paddy’s Super Sub offer, meaning if a player is substituted, the pick carries over to his replacement. Let’s get his Liverpool v Wolves betting tips.

Liverpool -1

Wolves could be set for a long afternoon at Anfield on Sunday. Liverpool are coming into this on the back of dropping two points in the last minute of a derby battle at Everton.

Curtis Jones, Arne Slot, and Sipke Hulshoff were all sent off thanks to the argy-bargy at full-time at Goodison Park on Wednesday. Never mind who the last guy is; the Reds are certain to be fired up for this one.

Even without that motivation, this is not a fixture that has been kind to Wolverhampton Wanderers over the years. They have lost their last four league games at Anfield by at least two goals, suffering defeat by any margin in seven straight.

Wolves have had better cup results at Liverpool in recent years, but without the Reds carrying the handicap of being managed by Roy Hodgson, this fixture hasn’t ended in an away league win since 1984.

As Wanderers have already lost by two goals in four of their five away games against the current top eight, an Alternative Handicap bet on Liverpool -1 looks like free money.

Both teams to score

I wouldn’t dissuade you from considering a bet on the regular handicap of Liverpool -2 goals. You will probably need them to net four times, though, as there’s a fair chance Wolves will score.

They’ve done so in nine of their 12 away matches, for starters. Granted, they drew blanks at Arsenal and Newcastle, but it’s not like the Reds have been keeping many clean sheets at Anfield recently.

If Ipswich and Leicester can score at Liverpool then Wolves can. No team has scored in more Premier League defeats than Wanderers this season, too, so head to the Both Teams to Score market and pick yes.

Or if you prefer, ignore the first two picks and select Liverpool in the ‘Result & Both to Score’ market, as that is another very valid option.

#WhatOddsPaddy Picks

It’s time to look through some of Paddy’s Liverpool v Wolves Stats Specials bets. Data is our friend here, as we can check how many times some of these things have happened.

Let’s see now.

‘Both goalkeepers to make 10 or more saves between them’, for starters. That’s happened twice at Anfield this season, once in an away game for Wolves. As two of the three examples involved Brentford, we probably need them to make this a three-team match before backing that.

How about ‘Mohamed Salah to make a tackle & to have 2 or more shots on target’? That did occur in this fixture last season, but in only one home league game since. Guess what? It was against Brentford.

There are a couple of strong options that catch the eye, though. One is ’25 or more match fouls’. Three of the last four meetings of these teams featured at least 24, so it isn’t hard to imagine the bet mark being reached. Match referee Simon Hooper awarded 33 fouls when Wolves went to Nottingham Forest in August, too.

Based on the odds, here’s annother one: ‘Matheus Cunha to be fouled, to commit a foul & to have a shot on target.’ This bet has paid out 12 times this season, including against the Reds at Molineux.

No other player in the Premier League has had this happen on more than nine occasions in 2024/25, while Cunha is one shy of having it happen most since his debut for Wolves in 2023. This is the Stats Special for me, please, Paddy.

Goalscorer Picks

As we think Liverpool will bag a few goals, we’d better pick a scorer bet to finish.

Salah. Thank you and goodnight, see you next week.

Oh, you wanted a less obvious, better-value option? In that case, I present everyone’s favourite wild-eyed Scouse Uruguayan (since Luis Suarez), Darwin Nunez.

Slot seems to trust him at Anfield, selecting the number nine for three of the Reds’ previous four home games in all competitions, four of the last six. With Diogo Jota not fit enough to start and Cody Gakpo possibly injured at Everton, this match is a good opportunity for Nunez.

If you think he’s too erratic for a straight goal bet (and fair enough), pick him in the ‘To Score Or To Be Shown A Card’ market. Darwin has received the joint-most Premier League cards for Liverpool this season despite playing less than 40 per cent of the minutes.
