2:30pm Mainz v Augsburg – Mainz to win

Mainz are in excellent home form heading into this game against Augsburg, with five consecutive home victories in the Bundesliga. The home side have recorded notable victories against the likes of Bayern Munich (2-1), Borussia Dortmund (3-1) and VfB Stuttgart (2-0).

Augsburg are without a clean sheet in their previous three matches and without a clean sheet in the last seven meetings between the two teams. Augsburg are winless in their last two away matches, following a draw against St.Pauli (1-1) in the Bundesliga and a defeat away at Stuttgart (1-0) in the DFB Pokal.

2:30pm Wolfsburg v Bayer Leverkusen – Leverkusen to win

Wolfsburg are winless in their last three league matches, following two consecutive draws against Eintracht Frankfurt (1-1) and Holstein Kiel (2-2) and a defeat to Bayern Munich (3-2). Wolfsburg are also without a clean sheet in their previous four matches and winless against Bayer Leverkusen in their previous four attempts.

Bayer Leverkusen are unbeaten in their last four matches coming into this game, with three consecutive wins for the current Bundesliga holders. Xabi Alonso’s side have won three of their last five on the road in the league, with victories against the likes of Borussia Dortmund (2-3), Augsburg (0-2) and Union Berlin (1-2).

3pm Stoke v Cardiff City – Stoke to win

Stoke City are unbeaten in their previous three home matches, following two consecutive draws against Oxford United (0-0) and Plymouth Argyle (0-0) and a 1-0 home win against promotion-chasing Sunderland. The Potters have already overcome Championship opposition in this competition when they beat Sunderland 2-1 in the third round.

Cardiff City are winless in their previous two away games, having suffered a 7-0 defeat at the hands of Leeds United. The Bluebirds are without a clean sheet in their last three.

3pm Sheffield United v Portsmouth – Sheffield United to win

Sheffield United have an excellent home record this season, with only two losses from 14 at Bramall Lane. The Blades have won four of their previous five matches coming into this game, with significant victories against Watford (1-2), Norwich City (2-0), Swansea City (1-2) and Derby County (0-1).

Portsmouth are winless in their previous three matches and have conceded first in six of their last eight matches in all competitions. The visitors have one of the poorest away records in the division, with only one win on their travels, having suffered five consecutive league defeats away from home before their trip to Sheffield.

3pm Norwich v Derby County – Norwich to win

Norwich City are heading into this game following two consecutive victories against Watford (0-1) and Swansea City (5-1). The Canaries are unbeaten in their last four matches in the league at Carrow Road, with further victories against Millwall (2-1) and Coventry City (2-1).

Derby County are in terrible form coming into this game, as the Rams have suffered eight consecutive losses and are without a clean sheet in their last 10. Derby County have picked up only one point from their last five away from home in the Championship, with four consecutive defeats on the road.

3pm Lincoln City v Cambridge United – Lincoln City to win

Lincoln City come into this game, with only one loss in their last four league matches, with two consecutive victories against local rivals Northampton Town (0-1) and Peterborough United (5-1). The home side were the victors when these two sides met back in September.

Cambridge United are without a clean sheet in their last 15 matches, and the visitors have only won once in their last five league matches. Cambridge United have the worst away record in the division alongside Shrewsbury Town, with only one win from 14 matches away from home in the division.

4pm Nice v Lens – Lens to win

OGC Nice are winless and without a clean sheet in their last three matches, following their 2-1 defeat in the Coup de France to fourth-tier side Stade Briochin. The home side have also endured two consecutive draws against Toulouse (1-1) and Bodø/Glimt (1-1).

RC Lens have won three of their last four away matches in Ligue 1, having only lost once on their travels in the league this season. The visitors have recorded notable victories against Montpellier (0-2), Le Havre and Stade Reims (0-2).

5:45pm Birmingham v Newcastle – Newcastle to win

Newcastle United are firm favourites to win this cup tie against Birmingham City, however, we do expect the home side to make a decent game of it. There are exactly 40 places between the two sides in the English football pyramid, as Birmingham are top of League One, while Newcastle sit sixth-place in the Premier League.

The Magpies will be full of confidence following the League Cup semi-final win over Newcastle, while in the Premier League, they boast the fifth-best away record, having won six and drawn three of their 12 games away from St. James’ Park.

Stoke v Cardiff City – Stoke to win
Sheffield United v Portsmouth – Sheffield United to win
