Football Accumulator Tips: Your 24/1 3pm acca for Saturday’s FA Cup Fourth Round clashes

It’s FA Cup time which means we’ve got games kicking off every 20 minutes for five days straight – and most of them are on a subscription-free TV service near you.

However, the FA Cup is for the purists, and our tipster Colin Harvey has run the rule over Saturday’s 3pms to come up with a value-packed acca for your consideration.

There’s some grand-old names in action and, with this being a five-fold flutter, Paddy’s footy acca betting offer kicks in, so we’ll get our stake back if just one leg lets us down. Fingers crossed and here we go…

Saturday’s FA Cup tips

Coventry v Ipswich – Coventry win/draw double chance
Everton v Bournemouth – Bournemouth to win
Preston v Wycombe – Wycombe win/draw double chance
Southampton v Burnley – Burnley win/draw double chance
Wigan v Fulham – Both teams to score

  • An Acca with these bets pays at approximately 24/1 with Paddy Power. CLICK HERE TO ADD IT TO YOUR BETSLIP.

Coventry v Ipswich – Coventry win/draw

Say what you like about Frank Lampard but he’s got Coventry City ticking. The Sky Blues had won four on the trot and conceded just one goal prior to Wednesday night’s 2-0 loss at home to Championship leaders Leeds.

After a brief bright spell, Ipswich have now lost four Premier League games on the bounce and had a terrible defeat to rock-bottom Southampton last time out. Make no mistake, their attention will very much be on staying in the top flight.

You fancy Lampard to go for this. He’ll be keen to get back on a positive curve after defeat in midweek and he’ll be looking to get as many wins as he can under his belt as quickly as possible to get a real positive vibe around his side.

Ipswich are Paddy’s big favourites which means there’s a bit of value in backing two of the three outcomes in the double chance markets and I fancy that the home side are going to avoid defeat inside the 90. Coventry to win/draw is a decent-enough price for our acca.

Everton v Bournemouth – Bournemouth to win

Who’d have thought it just a few weeks ago but this Everton v Bournemouth clash would be a meeting of two sides who are rude form. The Toffees are rejuvenated under David Moyes while the Cherries suffered their first loss in 12 in all competitions against the Premier League leaders Liverpool on Saturday.

Moyes’ boys come into this with three successive top-flight wins to their name and four in five in all competitions. I suspect that Moyes will be more than happy to drop the FA Cup like it’s hot and focus fully on keeping Everton in the Premier League next season.

Their Third Round win over Peterborough came hours after it was announced that Sean Dyche had left the club, so it’s hard to look too deeply into what kind of side they’ll field here based on that, but that was a changed XI. Bournemouth also rang the changes in thrashing West Brom but, given the injuries they currently have, it’s hard to see how they can make too many alterations to their side.

The Cherries are in the midst of an unlikely European charge but everyone at the club knows what they’re doing and what Andoni Iraola wants. You fancy that a second-string Bournemouth side will have what it takes to win this in the 90 minutes.

Preston v Wycombe – Wycombe/Draw

This Preston v Wycombe clash is an interesting one because PNE have improved of late and the Chairboys are pushing hard for promotion to join their hosts in the second tier next season. They also lost their manager Matt Bloomfield to Luton Town and still strengthened massively last month.

Preston have won three of their last five games and their visitors on Saturday have won the same number but are unbeaten in that time. Wycombe are a tough nut to crack and they’ve only lost three of their last 28 in all competitions, though they have recently appointed Mike Dodds as their new manager which is a bit of a fly in the ointment.

This should be tight though and the value is in backing the away side to get something inside the 90 minutes. Wycombe to win/draw double chance is a decent price for our five-leg acca and should have a good chance all the way to the final whistle.

Southampton v Burnley – Burnley win/draw

It’s the hope that kills you and that’s what Southampton have following their slightly-surprising win over Ipswich in the Premier League last week. The Saints are now a measly 10 points from safety and are closing in on Derby County’s record-low haul of 11 points at a rate of knots.

Burnley are second in the second tier and have conceded the same number of goals as Southampton have points this season (nine), having played seven more league matches. It will be a surprise if Southampton score in this game, given the strength of Scott Parker’s defence. The value is, again, with the away side at least still being in the cup at the end of the 90 minutes.

Burnley don’t score many and this one could be going all the way to a shootout. Burnley win/draw double chance at the 90-minute mark looks a great bet, especially at the price Paddy’s offering.

Wigan v Fulham – Both teams to score

We finish with a one-sided-looking affair as Wigan of League One host the Premier League’s Fulham. The Cottagers are going great guns and have secured their spot in the top flight for next season and now may be dreaming of European football.

The Tics have been underwhelming this year and sit 16th in the third tier, nine points off the drop. Fulham are 9th in the Premier League and are potentially just a point off of a European spot.

Marco Silva’s men are a bit hit and miss and you’d expect them to make changes while their hosts will go full strength. You can’t see anything other than an away win but Fulham are huge odds-on to do so, so we’ll try and find a winning play down a different avenue.

Wigan, for all their flaws, generally score and they’ve netted in five of their last six. Fulham don’t really do clean sheets, only keeping Leicester at bay in their last eight. With a changed side for the Cottagers there could be good value in backing both teams to score at a boisterous Brick Community Stadium.
