Man City scarf, 2025

Last weekend’s Premier League action was full of striking results – and some shock points totals in FPL.

PP football tipster Nathon Woodhead is back again with his advice on how to navigate Gameweek 24…

Gameweek 23 presented more questions than answers, so let’s dive right in and address them one by one.

Could Bournemouth win the league? Having demolished Newcastle in GW22 and Forest in GW23, GW24 brings table topping Liverpool south coast. Win that, and who knows?

Is Justin Kluivert the most in-form FPL midfielder? Having delivered 43 points in three matches to the 13.6% who own him, he isn’t the most in-form midfielder in the league (11.5 average). Phil Foden takes top spot in the midfield form chart (12.2), and after finding the net against Chelsea, it was one our tipster got spot on in the GW23 preview… ahem just saying!

Could Ollie Watkins join Arsenal? The fifth-highest-scoring striker in FPL (115) could be just what the Gunners need to clinch the title. Kai Havertz (84) and Gabriel Jesus (42) simply don’t cut it. Can’t see him abandoning Villa during their Champions League campaign.

Have we been wrong about David Moyes all these years? According to the new Assistant Manager chip, yes. Moyes was the highest-scoring manager and second-highest scorer overall in GW23, providing 19 points to the 31.5% who own him.

Do we understand the new Assistant Manager chip, and I mean really understand it? *Checks the rule book for the 100th time*

With all eyes on GW24, it is well worth checking in on those Everton assets. Looking rejuvenated under Moyes and with a double-game-week, now is the time to consider the likes of Pickford, Branthwaite and Calvert-Lewin.

It is also worth noting the other team with a double game-week is Liverpool, but our advice is to resist the urge to triple captain Mohamed Salah this time around (yes, seriously) as both games are away to in-form sides. Look, we all know we are saving this chip to use on Salah in a double-game week, but our advice is to wait; there will be an opportunity later in the season.

Is Luis Diaz due a big return

Only two attacking returns in his last nine games. You either need to sh*t or get off the potty Mr. Luis Diaz because you cost a lot of money and are wasting the time of the 17.9% who own you, including me.

Paddy Tip:
A straight swap for Justin Kluivert could be the wise move for those who do decide to twist.

Ivan who?

Bryan Mbeumo (147) and Yoane Wissa (101) are having the season of their lives, and against a Spurs side low in confidence and a manager on his last legs, we expect goals in this one.

Paddy Tip:
Mbeumo and Wissa to deliver attacking returns and bonus points.

Stay humble, eh

Four attacking returns in the previous five game-weeks tells me Erling Haaland, like City, might not be a rubbish as everybody seems to think. They had a blip but maybe, just maybe, they are over it.

Paddy Tip:
Haaland to provide an attacking return and run straight up to Arteta, and scream a message about humility in his face.

Southampton to shock us all

We predicted Southampton’s only win this season, and guess what, we are back to do it again. Ipswich have let in ten goal in two games, now is the time for the Saints to pounce.

Paddy Tip:
Paul Onuachu to provide an attacking return to the 0.3% who own him. He may only have one goal this season, but he’s looked a menace in recent week.
