Wednesdayโ€™sย Champions League action sees Celtic welcome Young Boys to Glasgow. Both sides are in contrasting form in the competition, but both need a win. Brendan Rodgersโ€™s side are unbeaten in four matches but are only two points clear of the drop. In contrast, the Swiss side are bottom with zero points.

Top social media tipster Andy Robson thinks weโ€™re in for a cracker. Heโ€™s got four player picks in here, too, all of which are covered by Paddyโ€™s Super Sub offer, meaning if a player is substituted, the pick carries over to his replacement.

Letโ€™s get his Celtic v Young Boys betting tips.

Kyogo Furuhashi to have 2+ shots on target
Silvere Ganvoula to commit 1+ fouls

Kyogo Furuhashi to have 2+ shots on target

Kyogo Furuhashi has led the line well for Celtic this season. The Japanese forward has scored 10 goals across his 22 domestic appearances from 32 shots on target (2.16 per 90).

This record hasnโ€™t quite translated to the Champions League, with Furuhashi averaging 0.92 shots on target per 90 across his six appearances in the competition, but he should get more joy here against a Young Boys side who have really struggled.

They sit at the bottom of the 36-team table, with zero wins from six games and 22 goals conceded.

Celtic are enjoying a more positive European campaign than in previous years. Brendan Rodgersโ€™ side currently sit in the play-off positions, having lost just one of their six games in the competition.

They face a Young Boys side who have conceded 54 shots on target across their six games (9.0 per 90) and at least five goals in three of their six Champions League games.

Celtic hit 11 shots on target against fellow Champions League strugglers Slovan Bratislava earlier in the season and should produce a similar volume of chances here.

Silvere Ganvoula to commit 1+ fouls

Ganvoula has committed nine fouls across his six Champions League appearances this season (2.23 per 90). The Young Boys forward has committed at least one foul in his last five appearances in the Champions League.

Heโ€™s often left frustrated with his sideโ€™s inability to sustain attacks, which leaves the striker as an isolated figure usually left to chase scraps from long balls, which is the only way Young Boys have been able to get up the pitch, theyโ€™ve really struggled with the increased quality of the Champions League, and Ganvoulaโ€™s fouls record reflects that.

As a team, Young Boys have committed 10+ fouls in their last five Champions League matches and 12+ in four of these games, further underlining the Swiss sideโ€™s frustration. No side is averaging more fouls committed per game in the Champions League this season than Young Boys (14.7 per game).

ย

Mohamed Ali Camara to commit 1+ fouls

Mohamed Ali Camara has committed four fouls in his four Champions League appearances this season (1.06 per 90 minutes). His track record of consistently making fouls is also reflected in his domestic numbers during this campaign (2.29 fouls committed per 90 minutes).

Young Boys are committing more fouls per game than any other team in the Champions League this season (14.7). Celtic should have most of the ball, with Young Boys also ranking in the bottom third for possession in the Champions League this season (41.9%).

Celtic are averaging 9.3 fouls won per 90 across their 6 Champions League games this season, and they can take a massive step towards qualifying for the play-off rounds with a victory here, so they should be at it from the start.

Young Boysโ€™ frustration should show again in a tough away fixture for Giorgio Continiโ€™s side, with similar foul numbers expected and Mohamed Ali Camara in pole position to step out of line at least once.

Young Boys GK to make 4+ saves

Young Boys have really struggled with the quality in the Champions League this season. Theyโ€™ve conceded 54 shots on target across their six games this campaign (9.0 per game). This record has resulted in the goalkeeper being forced into making 3.7 saves per game.

In their last five games in the competition, Young Boysโ€™ opponents have had at least five shots on target and at least 17 shots, which suggests that the defence really struggles to contain the opposition at this level.

Theyโ€™ve conceded 12 goals and allowed 20 attempts on their goal across their three away trips to Barcelona, Shakhtar and Stuttgart. Celtic should be able to continue this streak, having hit 11 against Slovan Bratislava at home earlier in the campaign.

Celtic have had 23 shots on target across their six Champions League games this season (3.83 per game). This number isnโ€™t exceptionally high, but it can be expected to increase against one of the most defensively vulnerable sides in the competition.

Cheikh Niasse to be shown a card

Niasse has received the joint most yellow cards in the Young Boys squad in the Champions League this season (two).

The combative central midfielder has committed four fouls across his four Champions League appearances this season (1.40 per 90 minutes) and is averaging 1.91 fouls committed per 90 minutes in the Swiss Super League this campaign.

Heโ€™ll line up against Reo Hatate, who has won seven fouls across his six Champions League appearances this season (1.45 per 90).

Young Boys should be without the ball for the majority of this encounter so expect a high defensive workload for Niasse and his teammates, a frustration that could boil over into a caution.

The referee for this fixture is Rohit Saggi, averaging four yellow cards per game across all competitions this season. Young Boys have collected the joint second-most cards in the Champions League this term (19).
