Ross County (+2)

Celtic may well leave Ross County on Saturday with all three points, but the home side are likely to make a good fight of it.

There are a number of different factors that complicate this match for the visitors, including the fact they played midweek when their opponents rested, and a forecast for freezing weather that is likely to play havoc with the playing conditions.

Ross County, meanwhile, are in a period of good form. They are undefeated in their last four matches, winning three of them. On top of this, Don Cowie’s hosts have only lost a single home match this season by a margin of more than a single goal, nearly causing a sensation the last time Celtic visited – before going down 2-1 as the visitors scored twice late on.

Noah Chilvers to have 2 or more shots

Inspiring Ross County’s recent strong form has been Noah Chilvers, who has mixed playing in attacking midfield with up front. He has two goals and three assists across the last four matches.

Chilvers should come into this game high in confidence, with the Englishman posting significant shot numbers in recent games. Across the last nine games, he’s had at least two shots. One of the exceptions was a clash against Rangers, in which he had one shot in 45 minutes on the field. He is likely to carry Ross County’s threat in this game.

Nicolas Kuhn to score or assist

Posting 11 goals and seven assists this season, no player has been as productive as German star Nicolas Kuhn in an attacking capacity, in the Premiership this term.

He is one of the players who comes into this game fresh, as he remained on the bench against Dundee United, suggesting he will get serious minutes in this game. His last outing was a two-goal salvo in a 3-0 win over St Mirren last weekend.

He’s netted in three of the last four league matches, missing out only against Rangers, when the whole of the Celtic team were catastrophic in their performance.

Celtic to win 7 or more corners

Celtic average 9.43 corners per match in the Premiership this season, the highest figure in the league. On the other hand, Ross County concede an average of seven per game, which is the second-highest, only behind Motherwell (7.05). This suggests Celtic will win a high number of these situations at Victoria Park.

The Hoops have won at least seeven corners in each of the last four matches between these clubs, including a staggering 19 when they played previously at Celtic Park. They also claimed nine corners when they visited Ross County earlier this term.

Ross County to receive most cards

Ross County have received more cards than Celtic in each of the two previous meetings between the clubs this season, outdoing their opponents in this statistic 3-1 when the clubs met at Victoria Park in October.

These are the cleanest clubs in the division when it comes to picking up cards, but with just 23 across the whole campaign, Celtic are miles ahead of their rivals in this regard. Ross County have received 42 cards, which is a rate nearly twice that of the visitors.
