NFL Tips: Our stand-out novelty bets for Super Bowl Sunday

Weโre ust days away from Super Bowl LIX featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles and the traders at Power Tower can finally take a break from drawing up the most niche, specific lines for the biggest sporting event the Americans have ever devised.
Our pigskin prognosticator, Andrew Cunneen, casts his discerning eye over the frankly ridiculous amount of markets available to give you just a taste of whatโs on offer, but you can peruse the offering at your leisure on PaddyPower.comโฆ
Super Bowl Novelty Bets
Super Bowl MVP โ Patrick Mahomes v The Field: Patrick Mahomes
Player to Have a Higher Passing Rating โ Hurts or Mahomes? Jalen Hurts
National Anthem โ Under 122.5 Seconds
First QB to Reach 150+ Passing Yards โ Jalen Hurts
Will There Be an Offensive Touchdown Scored on Fourth Down? Yes
Who Will the MVP Thank First? Teammates
Will a Player or Coach Cry During the National Anthem? No

ย
Super Bowl MVP โ Mahomes v The Field: Patrick Mahomes
I donโt think the Chiefs win this game by any stretch of the imagination, but while the Eagles have two or three different players that could win the award, the Chiefs have one.
And given heโs odds-against while the Chiefs are odds-on to win the Super Bowl, it seems like a worthwhile investment to me.
Heโs going to have to carry them over the line, and if he does, the explosiveness of the Eagles run game will only highlight his lack of supporting cast once again.
ย
Player to Have a Higher Passing Rating โ Hurts or Mahomes? Jalen Hurts
Heโll be throwing higher percentage balls, more RPOs and generally doesnโt throw into tighter windows. Heโs also far less likely to throw an interception.
I can see Hurts taking some pressure up front, but It wonโt impact the way they play on offence.
National Anthem โ Under 122.5 Seconds
Someone clearly went onto that YouTube to count for the over/under. That performance eight years ago was right on two minutes, but the total adrenaline would lead me to think heโll go under. His phrases are very quick and only the instrumentation extends it. Prepare to be shocked.
First QB to Reach 150+ Passing Yards โ Jalen Hurts
What Andy Reid always does is come out slowly, and adapt off the adjustments of the opposition. Mahomes should blow Hurts out of the water when it comes to passing attempts by the end of the game, but almost by design, they wonโt be showing their hand early.
ย
Will There Be an Offensive Touchdown Scored on Fourth Down? Yes
Tush push, tush push, tush push! But seriously, in the biggest moments, within a score, these teams will roll the dice like theyโve done all season.
They both have sophisticated enough design and QB mobility in their back pockets to go for it in the low red zone, so I donโt see why this is a big a price as it is.
Who Will the MVP Thank First? Teammates
Depending on the framing of the MVP presentation, they could well be led down the garden path of their own individual brilliance, and then almost immediately, players turn to thank their team mates.
If itโs Mahomes, heโll likely refer to his offensive line. If itโs Jalen Hurts, heโll likely thank his entire team for not exposing him as a mid-level QB, and if itโs Saquon Barkley, heโll likely thank the big boys up front as well.
Classic running back jargon.
ย
Will a Player or Coach Cry During the National Anthem? No
Honestly, I donโt think so. Itโs never young players that do it, and the veterans on these teams have been here before.
You might not find a better pairing to bet this odds-against selection in this instance. And itโs not like Jon Batiste is overly emotional in his performances either.
