The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles are set to face off in Super Bowl LIX this weekend.

It’s a rematch from two years ago when two touchdowns in the fourth quarter saw the Chiefs edge past the Eagles to lift the Vince Lombardi Trophy for the first time in 50 years.

They successfully defended the prize last year, which means Patrick Mahomes and Taylor Swift’s boyfriend will be bidding to lead Kansas City to a record-breaking third consecutive Super Bowl victory.

Kansas City Chiefs

The hat-trick seeking Kansas City Chiefs are set to feature in their fifth Super Bowl in the last six years.

Quarterback Mahomes led Kansas City to a dramatic victory against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023 before landing the MVP gong for the second season in a row following last year’s overtime success against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Chiefs suffered just two defeats in the regular season before beating the Texans and the Bills in the playoffs en route to the Super Bowl.

Kansas City’s long record of success is, perhaps, the reason why they are the favourites to get their mitts on the Vince Lombardi Trophy again.

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles are looking to add a second Super Bowl title to their roll of honour following their sole success in 2017.

Nick Sirianni’s side head into the big match in stonking form after demolishing the Commanders 55-23 in the Conference Championships a fortnight ago.

Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is likely to have a big say in the destination of the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
