12:50 – Jena d’Oudairies
JENA D’OUDAIRIES won her third and final start in bumper company and has offered encouragement to finish placed on both starts over hurdles this season. Jena d’Oudairies was a beaten odds-on favourite at Taunton last time but she still held every chance when badly hampered three out.
She could still do better over hurdles for her leading yard and makes the quick switch to handicap company here. She gets the vote over Epinephrine, who is also lightly raced and in excellent hands with Venetia Williams.
13:20 – High Fibre
HIGH FIBRE, a fairly useful handicapper on the Flat, showed plenty to work with when third on his hurdling debut at Wincanton in October and built on that to finish runner-up at Taunton last month.
He may even have won at Taunton had he not lost momentum at the final flight, where he stumbled on landing, and he sets the standard on that form. The main danger could be hurdling debutant Indemnity, who showed fairly useful form on the Flat last season.
13:50 – Kingston Pride
KINGSTON PRIDE was pulled up in Grade 2 company at Sandown in December, but that effort is best overlooked on account of the testing ground.
Kingston Pride had looked a good prospect when winning a bumper at Exeter and a maiden hurdle at Uttoxeter and he can bounce back in these calmer waters.
JJ Moon could be the one for the forecast spot. He showed much-improved form and a cracking attitude when only narrowly denied at Wincanton in December, and he looks likely to give another good account.
14:20 – Moulins Clermont
MOULINS CLERMONT showed very little on his chasing debut and return from nearly two years off the track at Newbury in November but, upped markedly in trip, he produced a much more encouraging effort back at the same venue a few weeks later.
Moulins Clermont looked a big threat after the third last but perhaps still needed the run after such a long absence and was unable to sustain his effort as well as the winner who went on to boost the form by scoring comprehensively at Windsor last month.
Moulins Clermont looks well-treated and can run off the same mark here.
14:50 – The Long Point
THE LONG POINT looked a good prospect when successful on his bumper debut at Huntingdon in May, readily pulling four and three quarter lengths clear.
He seemed in need of the run when fourth on his hurdling debut at Warwick in November but stepped forward on that when filling the same position at Hereford a month later.
He should find those efforts aiding his development, is likely to be suited by this slightly longer trip and remains open to improvement as he makes a quick switch to handicap company. He will have the assistance of Harry Cobden in the saddle for the first time.
15:25 – Flegmatik
FLEGMATIK is now ten years old and hasn’t been at his best this season, but he’s falling in the weights and ran creditably when third at Ascot last time.
The return to Kempton is in his favour as he has an excellent record at this venue and can launch a bold bid for a fourth win here.
El Rio could not complete the hat-trick when third over this course and distance last time, but that was still his best effort on Timeform’s figures and he is one of the main threats.
15:58 – Bebe And Bean
BEBE AND BEAN showed plenty to work with when fifth at Southwell on his debut in December and he is entitled to take a step forward with that under his belt.
Bebe And Bean can put that experience to good use and he gets the vote over Kadastral, who starts out for the Dan Skelton stable, which has enjoyed success in this sphere this season.
16:33 – Edward Sexton
EDWARD SEXTON made a promising start in bumpers when runner-up at Sandown in November, finding only a stablemate with pointing experience too strong.
That is a good base for Edward Sexton to build on and he sets a clear standard on that form.
Old Park Star also offered something to work with when third in the same race and can chase the selection home.
