Chelsea v West Ham Tips: Joe Cole’s MNF 8/1 Bet Builder

MNF has a meaty Premier League clash lined up for us as Chelsea will host their old friends from across London, West Ham.

Former Chelsea and West Ham man, and now PP ambassador, Joe Cole joined us recently to let us know what will go down at Stamford Bridge on Monday night.

He’s got a pair of player picks in here, too, and they’re covered by Paddy’s Super Sub offer, meaning if a player is substituted, the pick carries over to his replacement. Let’s get his Chelsea v West Ham betting tips.

WHEN: Monday, 3rd of February, 8pm
WHERE: Stamford Bridge, London
TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

I’m in the studio covering this game, but my kids will be at Stamford Bridge. This is a horrible game for me because it is two of my teams playing each other.

They’ve both had indifferent seasons, but Chelsea have scored 12 goals in the last five games and won the last two meetings with West Ham, 5-0 and 3-0. West Ham need to find a way to deal with this Chelsea team because they’ve been struggling against them.

West Ham have no clean sheet in six, which is understandable, judging by how we’ve seen them defend. They’re not missing attacking players like Jaron Bowen, Michail Antonio and Niclas Fullkrug, so I can only see a Chelsea win here.

Your eyes are drawn to Cole Palmer. He’s ranked second in the big chances created in the Premier League with 18 so far so he’s a good bet to score or assist. He does both regularly.

I think it will be a fiery derby under the lights and I can see both sides getting a couple of yellows each, so Over 3.5 cards might be a good bet, especially with Graham Potter coming back. That adds a little bit of spice to it as well.

Everyone gets fired up under the lights and Edson Alvarez to be booked is a cheeky bet on the West Ham side of things. He’s got six yellows and a red and I just think he looks half a yard off it.

Chelsea’s midfield will test you with the ball, they’ll go at you, and Alvarez is often late. I can’t see either keeping a clean sheet, so my score prediction is Chelsea 3-1 West Ham and both teams to score.
