Football Accumulator Tips: Our 34/1 shout for Saturday’s 3pm Premier League kick offs

Who’d have thought that when the television companies in the UK made their match picks for this weekend, Bournemouth against Liverpool would likely be more exciting than Arsenal versus Manchester City?

Yet that’s the state of play, with the match of the weekend in the Premier League Saturday 3pm slot. We also have two vital games at the wrong end of the table, with four of the bottom five clashing in a pair of must-win games for all concerned.

With Newcastle hosting Fulham to complete the set, Andrew Beasley has a pick for each match, which you can combine into an accumulator.

Premier League Acca tips

Bournemouth v Liverpool – Liverpool to win and over 2.5 goals
Everton v Leicester – Over 2.5 goals
Ipswich v Southampton – Ipswich to win and both teams to score
Newcastle v Fulham – Both teams to score, no

Bournemouth v Liverpool – Liverpool to win and over 2.5 goals

We must start at the Vitality Stadium. Bournemouth have scored nine goals in its last two games, edging out two of the top five. They have also beaten Arsenal and City on the south coast this season.

The Cherries’ home has generally been a happy hunting ground for Liverpool. They slipped up in 2022/23, losing 1-0, but when they’ve been able to field a midfield with legs, they’ve generally won by at least three goals. It was also 3-0 to the Reds in the reverse fixture at Anfield earlier in the campaign.

This will likely be closer, but it feels inevitable that it will be a high-scoring game once again. Arne Slot was able to rest the bulk of his regular starting XI in midweek, so they will be fresh for a test they should pass.

If I were you, I’d head to the ‘Match Odds and Over/Under 2.5 Goals’ market and select ‘Liverpool and Over 2.5’.

Everton v Leicester – Over 2.5 goals

The Reds’ Merseyside neighbours Everton have picked up form thanks to the Moyesiah returning to Goodison Park.

Since ditching the joyless Sean Dyche for the fractionally more flamboyant David Moyes, the Toffees have won back-to-back league games for the first time in 2024/25.

Leicester picked up a morale-boosting victory last weekend, too. Sure, it was only against Tottenham, but a win’s a win when you’re in the relegation zone.

The Foxes have arguably been the most entertaining away team in the division. Even though they’ve mostly been making the home fans smile, just one of their 11 games on the road hasn’t seen at least three goals.

The battle between two former temporary Manchester United managers should see Over 2.5 Goals.

Ipswich v Southampton – Ipswich to win and both teams to score

There should also be a few goals at Portman Road on Saturday afternoon. Ipswich hosted Southampton in the Championship last April in a match which ended 3-2 to the Tractor Boys.

They also won at St Mary’s Stadium last season before collecting a point there in September. Granted, they needed to score five minutes into stoppage time to draw 1-1 in that match, but Ipswich led the shot count 13 to 11 and six to three for efforts on target.

Even when they’re facing a fellow struggler, you assume Southampton will lose. No team has had as few points after 23 Premier League games, not even the infamous Derby County side of 2007/08.

As Saints have scored in their last three away games, take ‘Ipswich win and both teams to score’ to add a little juice to the Tractor Boys’ inevitable three points.

Newcastle v Fulham – Both teams to score, no

From one former Bobby Robson team to two more. Newcastle were the latest team to stroll past Southampton, using them as a springboard to recover from losing 4-1 to Bournemouth in their previous home game.

The Magpies are odds-on to beat Fulham on Saturday afternoon. Chances are they will win, as Marco Silva’s boys suffered the ignominy of losing to United last week, so they must be in bad shape.

There are better odds elsewhere, though. For instance, selecting ‘no’ in the both teams to score market will give you the best odds.

Fulham have failed to score in their previous two trips to St. James’ Park and four of their last six.

No team has had fewer home matches in the 2024/25 Premier League in which at least one side failed to score than Newcastle. Three of the four with goals at both ends were against the top seven sides, so there should be at least one nil on the score sheet at full-time.
