Football Accumulator Tips: Our 36/1 shout for Saturday’s 3pm Premier League kick offs

Sometimes the Saturday 3pm slate is filled with uninspiring fixtures, but this week we have the top two teams in the Premier League playing in the traditional kick-off slot.

There’s also a clash between two surprise European contenders in Bournemouth and Nottingham Forest, while three of the bottom four teams are in action and desperate for points.

Andrew Beasley have dived into the markets to find a selection for each match which you can combine in an accumulator.

Premier League Acca tips

Bournemouth v Nottingham Forest – Chris Wood to score
Brighton v Everton – Draw
Liverpool v Ipswich – Liverpool to win
Southampton v Newcastle – Newcastle to win
Wolves v Arsenal – Arsenal to win and over 2.5 goals

Liverpool v Ipswich – Liverpool to win

To have a realistic hope of having your five-leg acca landing, you need a couple of cast iron guarantees. Don’t be a hero, take some locks to get the ball rolling.

We have two obvious ones on Saturday afternoon. At Anfield, it would be a shock for the ages if Ipswich were to do anything other than lose. They did win at Liverpool when newly promoted in 2000 but the teams have been on rather different trajectories in the intervening quarter of a century.

Southampton v Newcastle – Newcastle to win

Another side who are almost as likely to win as the Reds are Newcastle, who travel to face Southampton. The Saints have taken just two points from their last 12 league games, with new manager Ivan Juric overseeing a perfect (for their opponents) five defeats from five.

While Newcastle lost last weekend, they have beaten the other three teams in the bottom four by at least three goals within the last six weeks. Hell, they even beat Southampton on the opening weekend of the season despite playing with 10-men for over an hour.

Take Liverpool and Newcastle to win. If they don’t, we may as well give up trying to predict football.

Wolves v Arsenal – Arsenal to win and over 2.5 goals

Another very likely winner is Arsenal at Wolves. That was the outcome the previous seven times these teams clashed, after all.

But we’ll add the condition that there needs to be over 2.5 goals. There’s a few reasons to think this might be a high scoring game, even though the last two meetings ended in 2-0 wins for the Gunners.

Arsenal have only kept two clean sheets on the road in the league this season, despite William Saliba starting every match. A shut out won’t be more likely in his absence.

Wolves have also scored in nine of their 10 games at Molineux. Tottenham have yet to visit (and they’re bound to score against them) but they’ve netted against the rest of the big six at home.

We can probably put Wolves down for a goal then. But whether they score or not, Mikel Arteta’s side have already scored three or more away to bottom half sides Brentford, Crystal Palace and West Ham. Arsenal to win and over 2.5 goals is the way to go in the west Midlands.

Bournemouth v Nottingham Forest – Chris Wood to score

Our next game features a pair of red-hot teams. Bournemouth won at Newcastle last weekend to establish their first ever 10-game unbeaten run in the top flight.

They host Nottingham Forest, the team that leads the Premier League’s six-game form table and has won their last four on the road.

The fixture will feature two of the top 10 goal scorers this season, Justin Kluivert and Chris Wood. The Forest man has four more goals overall and found the net in two of the last three meetings of these teams.

With Kluivert scoring nine of his 10 league goals on the road, take Wood to be an anytime goalscorer at the Vitality Stadium on Saturday.

Brighton v Everton – Draw

We finish further along the south coast at Brighton. The Seagulls won at Old Trafford last time out, as they usually do, and will welcome an Everton side buoyed by beating Tottenham, as teams usually do.

Both meetings of these clubs ended 1-1 last season. There is unlikely to be much between them here either.

Brighton lead the Premier League for draws in 2024/25, with 10. Four of their last six home matches ended all-square, with the three teams below Everton in the table who’ve visited the Amex Stadium this season all leaving with a point.

Similarly, while this is David Moyes’ first away game since he rejoined the Toffees, no team in the division has drawn more times on the road than Everton (four). His West Ham side hit double figures for tied games last season too.

It’s the biggest priced leg of our accumulator but take a draw between Brighton and Everton. It’s hard to imagine any other outcome.
