Mark Lawrenson's Premier League betting predictions

As the 2024/25 Premier League season rounds the bend and embarks on the long journey to the finish line, Paddy’s pal Mark Lawrenson is showing trademark stamina as he continues to gaze into his crystal ball every single week.

The Soccer Soothsayer has read the signs and tested which way the footballing winds are blowing to produce his Premier League predictions over the coming days. Let’s see what the future holds…

Saturday 3pm: Bournemouth v Nott’m Forest

Bournemouth were brilliant at Newcastle, they hardly had any players available and the bench had absolutely no Premier League experience whatsoever. It was quite amazing really and it one of the best performances I’ve ever seen from a side in that kind of situation.

Nottingham Forest sort of got away with it against Southampton but I’ll go for and away win. Bournemouth won’t be able to replicate their performances with so many players missing. Bournemouth 1-2 Nottingham Forest.

Saturday 3pm: Brighton v Everton

It was two great wins for both of these last time out but I feel like Everton scoring three goals was more of a blip than Brighton doing so. Everton might regress to the norm here, I just don’t see where their goals are going to come from, especially away from home. Brighton 2-0 Everton.

Saturday 3pm: Liverpool v Ipswich

Liverpool just can’t do anything wrong at the moment. They’ve got two players for every position, if one isn’t doing it you just take him off and another one comes on and scores a brace. Good luck, Ipswich! Liverpool 3-0 Ipswich.

Saturday 3pm: Southampton v Newcastle

This is the perfect game for Newcastle after getting thrashed at home by Bournemouth. Southampton might feel the backlash and they’ve got no way of stopping it either. Southampton 0-3 Newcastle.

Saturday 3pm: Wolves v Arsenal

I can’t see Arsenal slipping up here. In fact, I think they’re starting to pick up a bit. They’ve only lost twice this season but it just tells you how well Liverpool have done that Arsenal are still six points behind. Wolves 0-2 Arsenal.

Saturday 5.30pm: Man City v Chelsea

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

Manchester City are at home which should help but they threw it away against Paris St-Germain in the Champions League during the week after being 2-0 up. Chelsea are a bit iffy and you still can’t really rely on City but that result in France might give them a kick up the backside. Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea.

Sunday 2pm: Crystal Palace v Brentford

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

Crystal Palace are on a good run but Brentford got mugged by Liverpool last week. Brentford are not good on the road so, with this being a crazy Premier League year, I’m going to go for Brentford to buck the trend and get an away win! Crystal Palace 1-2 Brentford.

Sunday 2pm: Spurs v Leicester

It’s high time we had a reaction from Tottenham and this is a great chance to do so. There’s loads of problems with Spurs but they do normally score goals. Since Ruud van Nistelrooy’s come in Leicester have lost pretty much every game and they’re up to seven on the bounce now. Tottenham 3-0 Leicester.

Sunday 4.30pm: Aston Villa v West Ham

TV: Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League

I can’t see West Ham scoring in this game. Aston Villa are clearly not as good this season as they were the last but they’ve got good performances in them and we are seeing that more regularly now. Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham.

Sunday 7pm: Fulham v Man Utd

TV: TNT Sports 1 and TNT Sports Ultimate

Fulham are difficult to beat at home, they’re a good side. Manchester United have been absolutely all over the place so maybe it’s time for a bit of a dull watch and some calm. Fulham 1-1 Manchester United.

Lawro’s Premier League predictions

Saturday 3pm: Bournemouth 1-2 Nottingham Forest
Saturday 3pm: Brighton 2-0 Everton
Saturday 3pm: Liverpool 3-0 Ipswich
Saturday 3pm: Southampton 0-3 Newcastle
Saturday 3pm: Wolves 0-2 Arsenal
Saturday 5.30pm: Manchester City 2-1 Chelsea
Sunday 2pm: Crystal Palace 1-2 Brentford
Sunday 2pm: Tottenham 3-0 Leicester
Sunday 4.30pm: Aston Villa 2-0 West Ham
Sunday 7pm: Fulham 1-1 Manchester United
