Oxford United v Luton – Oxford United draw no bet

Under the guise of the experienced Gary Rowett, Oxford United have picked up in recent weeks – now sitting six points clear of relegation.

If the U’s are to survive, it would be their home to thank, picking up 25 points in 14 games. They are also unbeaten in their last league games, winning their last three at home.

Luton have surprisingly struggled on their return to the Championship and sit 23rd in the table. Rob Edwards was dismissed as manager, with Wycombe manager Matt Bloomfield hired as his replacement. Despite picking up a respectable 22 points at home, their away record would be a worry, picking up just four points from 13 – losing 11 of these – including the last ten.

With the draw on side, Oxford present value on Tuesday night against an out-of-sorts Luton side.

Blackburn v Coventry – Both teams to score, no and under 2.5 goals

After an exciting start to the Championship season, Blackburn have reverted to a more pragmatic style of play, grinding out results to great success. John Eustace’s side have conceded just 24 goals this season, scoring 31 goals, with their games averaging just 2.04 goals.

Games at Ewood Park have been low scoring, with 11/14 seeing BTTS no, including ten of the last 11 and the last 11/13 home/away in all competitions, as well as the reverse fixture in Coventry.

Coventry made the controversial decision to sack legendary manager Mark Robins, hiring Frank Lampard as his replacement. The 46-year-old has started solidly, losing just three of his 11 games in charge. The Sky Blues are in an interesting league position, sitting six points clear of relegation and nine points off the playoffs.

While they have seen BTTS in half of their away games, it should be a low-scoring cagey affair at Ewood Park.

Watford v Preston – Watford to win

Despite being tipped by some for a surprise relegation to League One, Watford have had a strong start to the season, sat just outside the playoffs on goal difference. Tom Cleverley is battling against off-field issues so deserves immense credit for the job he is doing in Hertfordshire.

Vicarage Road has become a fortress for The Hornets, picking up 29 points from 13 games – the fourth-best home record in the league.

Preston sacked Ryan Lowe after just one game this season, with Paul Heckingbottom hired as his replacement. Pragmatic in his nature, Paul Heckingbottom has Preston 16th in the league, swatting away any immediate relegation fears. As seems to be the case with most of the Championship, North-End have struggled away from home, winning just one of their 13 away games.

Odds-against for a strong Watford side to win presents value.

Swansea v Sheffield United – Harrison Burrows to score

Harrison Burrows was one of the most sought-after players in the EFL in the summer after 12 goals and 17 assists for Peterborough in League One. Sheffield United won the race for the talented 23-year-old who has become a mainstay in the Blades team.

Chris Wilder’s side have struggled with injuries in attacking areas in recent weeks, with Wilder starting Burrows on the wing in the 2-0 victory over Norwich on the weekend. The make-shift winger was impressive, scoring both goals – doubling his tally for the season. Despite playing left-back all season bar the Norwich game, he is averaging 1.56 shots and 0.36 shots on target per 90.

He is expected to start on the wing again in South Wales and looks a nice price to score – especially considering he will remain the designated penalty taker.

Millwall v Cardiff – Callum Chambers to be shown a card

A career that promised so much for Callum Chambers looked to be fizzling out, but he has been offered a revival at Cardiff City. The 30-year-old has started 25/27 games for the Bluebirds this season and is a key cog in Ömer Riza’s side.

Despite originally being deployed as a centre-back, Chambers has shifted into midfield in recent weeks, in a bid to shore up the team. He is averaging 1.31 fouls and 0.20 yellows per 90. Centre midfielders against Millwall tend to rack up yellow cards, with 15 cautioned against the Lions, with Chambers a tempting price to make it 16.
