Aston Villa to win

Aston Villa have already sewn up their place in the Champions League knockout stages, but a win on Tuesday night would go a long way towards securing their place in the top eight.

Monaco is by no means an easy fixture for Villa, but it is decidedly easier than if they had played them earlier in the campaign.

Monaca started their Champions League campaign at breakneck speed, taking ten points from their opening four games, including a 2-1 win over Barcelona in the opening round of the competition.

They have lost their last two games on the spin, however, and have won just once in their last eight games in all competitions โ€“ against sixth-tier Lโ€™union Saint Jean in the French Cup.

Villa, meanwhile, are unbeaten in five and will be in buoyant mood following their two-goal comeback against Arsenal at the Emirates on Saturday.

They will be confident of securing a third away win of their Champions League campaign on Tuesday.

Both teams to score

Villaโ€™s 2-2 draw with Arsenal was very much a continuation of a recent trend that has seen Villa involved in several high-scoring games in recent weeks.

Unai Emeryโ€™s side have both scored and conceded in eight of their last ten games in all competitions, managing just one clean sheet in that ten-game spell.

They had conceded just one goal in their opening five Champions League games but ran out 3-2 winners in Leipzig last time out and will almost certainly have to score twice if they are to leave Monaco with three vital points.

Monaco, on the other hand, have kept just two clean sheets in 13 outings, failing to score in only three of those games.

All signs point to a high-scoring affair.

Jhon Duran to score anytime

Jhon Duran is enjoying an excellent campaign for Villa, but he is really flourishing in the Champions League.

The Colombian striker struck a sensational goal in Villaโ€™s win at Red Bull Leipzig last time out and also scored in the 1-0 win over Bayern Munich and the 2-0 win over Bologna.

His goals have directly contributed four points to Villaโ€™s Champions League campaign, proving the difference between Villaโ€™s current place in the top eight and a fight for a place in the knockout stages.

He is good value to add to his Champions League tally on Tuesday.

Monaco to commit 13 or more fouls

Few teams have committed more fouls in this seasonโ€™s Champions League than Monaco.

Adi Hutterโ€™s side are averaging 13.3 fouls per game in Europe, the third-highest in the competition.

They also rank in the bottom ten in terms of discipline, receiving 13 bookings and a sending off in their six games to date.

Monacoโ€™s tendency to foul is even worse in their home games, with Hutterโ€™s side averaging a whopping 14.3 fouls per game in their three home games in the Champions League so far.

Villa, meanwhile, draw the tenth-highest number of fouls in the Champions League, drawing an average of 11.5 per game.

They could easily draw at least 13 fouls in Monaco on Tuesday.

Breel Embolo to have two or more shots on target

Villa may have only conceded three goals in Europe this season, but they have faced a considerable number of shots.

Their average of 13.2 shots faced per game is the 12th-worst in Europe, rising to over 14 shots per game in their away outings.

Monaco, on the other hand, average over five shots on target per game in Europe this season and seven shots on target per game in home games.

They will get chances on Tuesday night and Breel Embolo, who averages close to two shots per game this season, should be on the end of a number of them.

He could very easily test Emi Martinez at least twice.
