A couple of my old teams face off in the Champions League on Tuesday night as Liverpool host Ligue 1’s Lille.
Liverpool’s season couldn’t be going any better. They’re top of the Premier League and they’re also flying in the Champions League with a perfect record. Everything Arne Slot is doing is working.
Lille have also impressed this season and they’ve beaten Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid and drew against Juventus.
They’re 21 games unbeaten heading into Tuesday’s clash and they have a lot of quality in their side, with Jonathan David leading the line as their main man.
Despite Lille’s form, I’m still expecting Liverpool to win, especially with the game being at Anfield. However, I do expect both teams to score as Lille are dangerous going forward. I’m expecting the Reds to win 2-1.
I expect David to score to add to his tally for the season. He’s already got four Champions League goals and he’s netted 11 times in Ligue 1.
Finally, I like Darwin Nunez to score. He’s such a confidence player and his two goals at the weekend will leave him fancying himself again.
