Mark Lawrenson's Premier League betting predictions

As the 2024/25 Premier League season rounds the bend and embarks on the long journey to the finish line, Paddyโ€™s pal Mark Lawrenson is showing trademark stamina as he continues to gaze into his crystal ball every single week.

The Soccer Soothsayer has read the signs and tested which way the footballing winds are blowing to produce his Premier League predictions over the coming days. Letโ€™s see what the future holdsโ€ฆ

Tuesday 7.30pm: Brentford v Man City

Brentford were dumped out of the cup at the weekend and Manchester City beat Salford very easily. Iโ€™m going to go for City to back that up, the revival is happening! Brentford 0-2 Manchester City.

Tuesday 7.30pm: Chelsea v Bournemouth

Chelsea and Bournemouth are both safely through in the cup but I fancy Chelsea at home. Bournemouth are going well but I just donโ€™t think theyโ€™ll have enough to get anything at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea 2-1 Bournemouth.

Tuesday 7.30pm: West Ham v Fulham

Fulham were very impressive, albeit against a pretty poor Watford side last time out in the FA Cup. West Ham were really, really good for an hour at Aston Villa then lost control of it. I can see this being a stalemate. West Ham 1-1 Fulham.

Tuesday 8pm: Nottโ€™m Forest v Liverpool

Whoโ€™s have thought this would be something of a top-of-the-table clash? Nottingham Forest are still the only team to have beaten Liverpool in the league this year and they were brilliant on the break that day but I think the Reds will turn the tables.

I can definitely see Forest scoring but if you can keep Chris Wood relatively quiet youโ€™ll be okay plus Liverpool made a lot of changes against Accrington Stanley on Saturday so theyโ€™ll be ready for this. Nottingham Forest 1-3 Liverpool.

Wednesday 7.30pm: Everton v Aston Villa

Iโ€™m not sure what David Moyes is thinking, Everton just donโ€™t have the caliber of players they did when he was last there and they canโ€™t buy a goal. He must have been given some assurances that there will be cash to spend and the last time he was there he basically ran the club from top to bottom.

I donโ€™t think it will be like that this time around. It will be a big atmosphere but Aston Villa have started picking up again and theyโ€™ve got so much quality. Everton 1-2 Aston Villa.

Goodison Park

Wednesday 7.30pm: Leicester v Crystal Palace

I just canโ€™t see Leicester winning and theyโ€™re giving goals up for fun. In theory this is one of their easiest games between now and the end of the season so they may get a point. Leicester 1-1 Crystal Palace.

Wednesday 7.30pm: Newcastle v Wolves

Wolves were taken apart by Nottingham Forest the other night, it doesnโ€™t look like the change of manager has worked but it is early days and Forest were really good. Newcastle are in excellent form and Iโ€™d be very surprised if they didnโ€™t win this. Newcastle 2-1 Wolves.

Wednesday 8pm: Arsenal v Spurs

Arsenal are in a real tough run of games at the moment but theyโ€™ll obviously be well up for this one. Thereโ€™s no such thing as fatigue when a derby rolls around. Bukayo Saka is a big miss but Tottenham really are down to the bare bones, especially at the back, and that tells at the top level. Arsenal 2-0 Tottenham.

Thursday 7.30pm: Ipswich v Brighton

Brighton have found their shooting boots of late and I fancy them to go on a bit of a run now. Some of their players are coming back and, with a little bit of confidence, they are a really dangerous team. Ipswich 1-2 Brighton.

Thursday 8pm: Man Utd v Southampton

Thereโ€™s always loads of noise around Manchester United but theyโ€™ll win this easily. Southampton just wonโ€™t have anywhere near enough. Manchester United 3-0 Southampton.
