Premier League Predictions: Lawro’s backing comfortable Arsenal and Liverpool wins

As the 2024/25 Premier League season dives head first into the Festive fixture list Paddyโs pal Mark Lawrenson is merrily continuing to gaze into his crystal ball over the busy Christmas period and beyond.
The Soccer Soothsayer has read the signs and crunched the numbers to produce his Premier League predictions over the coming days. Letโs see what the future ho ho holdsโฆ

*All games on Amazon Prime Video in the UK, selected games on Premier Sports in Ireland
Thursday 12.30pm: Manchester City v Everton
Manchester City lost again andย they still donโt look right, they hardly made a chance against Aston Villa. Everton had another good result against another one of the top teams with successive 0-0s. You have to think City will turn it round at some point but Everton know what theyโre about. Manchester City 1-1 Everton.
Thursday 3pm: Bournemouth v Crystal Palace
Iโm going to go for a home win for my favourite team! It was some result against Manchester United last time out and I should have had some faith. Bournemouth 2-1 Crystal Palace.
Thursday 3pm: Chelsea v Fulham
These two both had 0-0s last time out which would have been big odds with both expected to win. You canโt beat a good boxing Day derby and Iโll back Chelsea to sneak it. Chelsea 2-1 Fulham.
Thursday 3pm: Newcastle v Aston Villa
Newcastle have had a couple of big wins but Iโm going to side with Aston Villa. Theyโre back on the bus now and theyโre a great side when theyโre at it. Newcastle 1-2 Aston Villa.
Thursday 3pm: Nottโm Forest v Spurs
Tottenhamโฆ oh dear. You have to go with whoever theyโre playing at the moment because theyโre just aboltely bonkers. Nottingham Forest are still defying everyone so good on them. Nottingham Forest 2-0 Tottenham.
Thursday 3pm: Southampton v West Ham
Every point is like gold dust for Southampton but theyโre probably already gone in all honesty. West Ham are the better side, no doubt about it. Southampton 1-2 West Ham.
Thursday 5.30pm: Wolves v Man Utd
Manchester United cannot, surely, be as bad as they were at home to Bournemouth. Wolves had a huge win at the weekend but there has to be a reaction from United. Wolves 1-2 Manchester United.
Thursday 8pm: Liverpool v Leicester
This could get ugly for Leicester. I just canโt see how they can do anything against Liverpool with the way the Reds are playing at the moment. Iโll go for a big home win but thatโs probably still being kind to Leicester. Theyโre so porous at the back. Liverpool 3-0 Leicester.
Friday 7.30pm: Brighton v Brentford
Brighton are due a win, they havenโt won in five games. Brentford do not travel well at all so they wonโt get a better chance to put that right. Brighton 2-0 Brentford.
Friday 8.15pm: Arsenal v Ipswich
Arsenal thrashed Crystal Palace 5-1 the other day and Ipswich are starting to look a little naive. Iโll just go with a regulation home win for Arsenal because losing Bukayo Saka, if he is out for a long time, will be a huge blow to them. Hamstrings are a nightmare and it was one of those that looked innocuous which is a big worry. Arsenal 2-0 Ipswich.
