After a slow start to his opening match in the second round, Littler delivered a sensational display in the final set to breeze through to the next stage.

Michael van Gerwen, one of the greatest to have ever picked up a set of arrows, is next in the outright betting.

The three-time world champion has failed to get his hands on a major prize in the current calendar year, but reached the final of The Masters and World Matchplay.

He has a route to the final that avoids Littler.
