If this isn’t the biggest spread on the year, it’s certainly up there. And for good reason.
The Saints are switching quarterbacks like they’re going out of fashion, and having now turned to, turned away, and reverted to rookie Spencer Rattler over the course of four months, this is a disaster waiting to happen.
The Packers still have an outside chance of leapfrogging the Vikings if they beat them next week, but that only becomes relevant should they win here.
A victory also secures a postseason berth, but they’ll need to keep rolling if they want to go into next week with momentum, in what’s the biggest game of their season.
For context, if the rest of the NFL went the way it expects to, then the #5 seed, currently owned by Minnesota, would play the Rams. If the #6 seed travel to Tampa Bay. Given the way the Bucs are rolling, you want to avoid that at all costs.
Expect Matt LaFleur to keep the foot down here.
New Orleans – Under 13.5 points
This isn’t Spencer Rattler-bashing season. It’s more just to do with the lack of a supporting cast, too.
At their absolute peak, the Saints have Alvin Kamara who’s the best security blanket in the NFL. They have Rashid Shaheed, who’s a brilliant deep threat. They have Chris Olave who’s an alpha X receiver, and they’ve got the gadget nature of Taysom Hill.
Well, they’ve none of that now, even MVS and Juwan Johnson are hurt.
This is as bad a situation as a rookie could have, and going into Green Bay in the cold is not the ideal setup for him to succeed.

The easiest way for Green Bay to put up scores here is by going to their backs and their tight ends.
Mathieu and Harris have both lost a step, and heavy personnel should see Kraft and Jacobs line up for routes against Demario Davis or Willie Gay. Knowing how LaFleur likes to scheme matchups here, I think it’s likely a Kraft week.
Jordan Love – Over 230.5 passing yards
What they’ll need to do in the postseason in order to survive is to run play-action effectively. Their straight dropback game hasn’t been as efficient as they’d like, albeit a normal impact from a Shanahan offensive blueprint to incur.
Love will find the easiest completions by establishing runs on early downs and then firing off the seams later in the game.
I don’t expect him to drop back a huge amount, as the Saints can rush the passer. It’s the only thing they can do. But I do expect there to be a lot of downfield looks early in the game to test the wheels of the Saints’ back end.
